I Am the Good Shepherd
When everything was darkness, I came to this world as planned, With the weight of all creation held within my hand,
I stepped into the water, where my Father called me Son,
I built the bridge, I tore the veil, so freedom could be won.
With staff in hand, I lead the way,
Through night and storm, through break of day,
My love’s no empty promise, it’s steadfast, true, and deep,
I guard my own, you know my voice, and safely you will sleep.
When you wander, I seek you out, through every vale and hill, No obstacle can turn me back, my heart is steadfast still,
With tender voice, I call you home, my arms your refuge sure, I bring you back to fields of grace, peaceful, calm, secure.
In every trial, every tear, my shepherd’s heart remains,
No force of darkness, no unbelief, can tear you from my hands,
So cast your stones, divide my clothes, and crown me with your thorns, Yet still, I’ll stand as your defender, the Good Shepherd who restores.
So bring your doubts, your fears and scars, to me, and find relief, For in my arms, your battles end, and all your struggles cease,
I am the Good Shepherd, a friend always near,
In joy or pain, in light or dark, with me you need not fear.
I walked through fields of sorrow, bore every sin and shame,
With every step, I called you, I whispered your true name,
I am the gate, the way, the life, through me, all mine believe,
The Good Shepherd who guards your rest, the one who sets you free.
