When my soul feels empty and hunger sets in
Treading paths that are marked by sin
The storm clouds gather and the skies grow dark
With the weight of doubt and the frailty of life
But in the midst of pain and grief
A shepherd brings my soul relief
His hands provide guidance and my heart revives
On the Lord himself, the bread of life
As weary souls, we kneel in shame
He lifts us up through his strong name
A lion, a tower, a consuming fire
His love fulfills my heart’s desire
Come to Him, partake and see
The bread of life who makes us free
For in myself I was broken and empty
But through the Vine I have found plenty
So I crawl to his table on hands and knees
My soul cries out in desperate pleas
He lifts me up and holds me tight
My Father, my Savior, the Bread of Life
